I'm really quite perplexed as to what happened with January. It was here. I remember that. I welcomed it with open arms on New Years eve with wonderful friends. And now...it's gone. It's the final day of January and I don't know where all the days in the middle went! That only means one thing...get ready for Valentine's day!
I'm going to be teaching a Valentines Class for Kids at Lila's scrapbooking on Feb 10th. There are two times; one being for young ones with an adult. Cost is $15. It's going to be my first time teaching kids scrapbooking in this type of setting so as much as I'm looking forward to it I am curious about the potential problems that may crop up with a class like this! Below are some samples for the class. Please don't hesitate to contact Lila's for more info. www.lilasscrapbooking.blogspot.com

Here's my LO!
This is my LO for a January sketch challenge on www.dixiepieces.com . It's for Kim's sketch. http://dixiepieces.com/forum/topic.php?id=8407&replies=9 I stayed pretty true to the sketch but used ovals instead of circles and really emphasized the geometrics of the paper. Hope you like it!
Supplies - all papers except black cardstock from SEI,
black cardstock AC, clip DCWV, felt shapes unknown, letters - Thickers

First Communion
My friend's daughter took her first communion this morning. This is a very important milestone for her and her family and I wanted to make the perfect card. This was the first time I really got to play with my new Big Shot and it was fun! I'm pleased with the end result and really had lot of fun making it.
It's hard to tell but the top portion of the dress shimmers as I painted it with Liquid Pearls. ( I tried to make it special as I knew Gracy would be wearing a brand new white sweater handmade for this occasion for her by her mom.) I coloured the shoes black and then went over them with a Glaze pen to create a shine to replicate the look of Gracy's black patent shoes I knew she'd be wearing. For the skirt I overlaid it with vellum and added some details with the Liquid Pearls.
Thank you so much for taking the time to look!
Products used:
cardstock, ribbon, dew drops and vellum-
from my stash,
pearlized cardstock-AC,
Liquid Pearls, Copic Markers, Sakura Glaze pen, Nestabilites, Cuttlebug embossing folder

Here's what I'm up to!
Coming up on January 18th I am teaching a class at Lila's Scrapbooking. It's all about creating a two page layout with all the photo cards you receive at Christmas. A second layout gives you the perfect place to display photos of Christmas traditions. I'd love to see you at my class! (And it's much better to come to the class than to put those photos in another "to scrap" pile!) I'm so excited to start off the new year teaching what I love!
The patterned papers are all from My Minds Eye, Holiday Avenue glittered paper collections. Also used: Cricut, Cuttlebug templates.
If you're interested in this class please contact me, or better yet, contact Lila directly.
