Let's Scrap! Design team layout
I've been so anxious to share this layout! I created for my submission to the DT at Let's Scrap and I was invited to the team! It's a group of fabulous, super friendly and energetic ladies that make up the team. Every week we work to put together a bunch of samples for the sketch of the week and there's also lots of chatter and prizes for the challenges! (Inspiration of the week, Question of the week etc.) Please take a minute to check Lets Scrap out!
This layout is of pictures taken last August when my friend and I took our kids to my mom's cabin near Mt Baker. We spent a lot of time just hanging out at the river doing what you do when one is hanging out at the river - build rock walls, catch fish in cups, or bare hands, and just explore.
Thanks so much for checking out my blog! Comments are always welcome!

Bo Bunny Elegance
So between the last week being filled with sickies (V and me), and me getting a crazy desire to clean/organize/purge my scraproom I haven't done a whole lot of scrapping. I did make the time to work with this Bo Bunny line, Elegance, in black and white with touches of black glitter. I think it's meant to be a wedding line but it's very versatile. As you can see I didn't do anything wedding with it! I'll show more pics in my next post!
I made this embellishment with giant rick rack and a giant gem from Bo Bunny. The flower is glued to the "latch" which folds over from the other side. I used velcro as the purse closure.
These fabulous large flowers are from Floral Embellishments.
Tanks for looking!

I love bold patterned papers and I'm sure that's why I was drawn to the Bella Blvd Christmas line. And not only to I love the bold, clean designs here but I love that the papers are not strictly red and green for Christmas - there is blue and pink too! (Could easily be used for non Christmas LOs!) Add to that my recently acquire irock and I was one happy scrapper this week!

Exciting DT News
This is just a quick post at the end of a crazy busy weekend to let you know that I found out late Friday night that I had been offered a spot on the Let's Scrap Design Team for December through March. I'm so excited! If you're not familiar with Let's Scrap it is a fabulous website for scrapbookers (and card makers) that helps to get the creative juices flowing! It's all about sketches! Every week there is a new sketch! They have a library (printable too) off all the past sketches and the gallery rocks with ways to work with these sketches! As soon as I have permission I'll post my LO I submitted for my application!

Zombies!
OK, this is definitely not for every 8 year old girl, but my son has a dear friend for whom this is perfect! In between scrapping I've been sewing like a mad woman to create Felt Zombies for Gracy. Gracy is like any other girl her age who isn't so much into Barbie, but prefers Monster High dolls (think Barbie but with names like Lagoona Blue and Frankie Stein - and the looks to match!). She appreciates things like zombies and werewolves. When we we in the local craft store and my son saw a book on how to make Felt Zombies he knew exactly what Gracy NEEDED for her birthday. And thus, the Zombies were born.
Each takes anywhere from an hour to 2.5 to make. I enlarged the patterns to about 150% so each is about 4 inches tall. They're all straight forward and for the most part pretty simple to make. Although, getting some of the exact beads and findings can prove difficult. Just be creative and flexible and it'll be great!
And as everyone knows if you have pet zombies, you need a coffin to keep them in...right? Of course. So now we rope in my husband. Dad comes up with plans and now Dad and Son are busy in the garage creating the perfect coffin - but not just for the zombies. Dad realized that Gracy's Monster High dolls would be very happy to have a coffin to sleep in and share with some Felt Zombies. So the coffin is re-sized so it will be roomy enough for everyone, complete with latch and handle.
The party is tonight and I'm absolutely bursting with anticipation! I'll try to get some photos of the birthday girl to share! I'll let you take a look now at what she's getting:

Numbers challenge
This weekend was crazy busy for us. (We had three family birthdays, one being a 70th celebration.) And of course that's when one of my favourite scrappy sites, Dixie Pieces, had an online crop. I had to miss out on a lot of that fun but they have some fantastic challenges up. (FYI - the challenges run to Nov. 13th so you can still get in on the fun!) The first challenge I tackled was from Kim Holmes and required a number on a card.

2 of a kind
I completed this LO for an October challenge (vintage photo) on Dixie Pieces using a sketch from Let's Scrap. The vintage photo I used is of my little sister who passed away when she was 12. Her picture is on the bottom. The photo on the top is my daughter, taken at almost the same age. I think it is an absolute gift how much my daughter looks like my sister, but it is a little creepy sometimes.
Sorry, the colours are a little off. It seemed I couldn't get them quite right no matter when or how I tried to take the pictures. IRL they are slightly softer and the "orange" flower is actually pink.
Supplies - flowers- Prima, from my stash; Flourishes - Cricut; Dew Drops (plastic) - unknown, patterened paper and sticker letters - Echo Park (little girl)
Thanks so much for taking a peek at my work!

My first posting at Let's Scrap
I was recently introduced to Let's Scrap by Kristine Ponte and was very pleased with what I found! I arrived just in time to take advantage of an October challenge for those who have never posted to Let's Scrap. All I had to do was create a LO with a sketch (not any from Oct 2011) and post it to the gallery. So that's what I did. I hope you like it!
Here's the link to the sketch - Lets Scrap
Supplies - Cricut, Basic Grey, Fancy Pants, Target (ribbons), Making Memories, Thickers

Happy Halloween!
I love Halloween! I really love Halloween! My stash of scrappy supplies for Halloween is far larger than for any other time of the year. And that means I have tonnes of supplies and ideas for projects that I just never seem to have the time for. This year I dug deep and pulled out a wood set from Carolee's Creations, from about 3 years ago I think. I found the perfect paper and went to work. And of course, my kids love it, but I think that has more do to with the lollipops than anything else.
Supplies - Paint - Apple Barrel, Plaid; Papers - Basic Grey Eerie; Lettering- Thickers; Eyes - SEI monsters; Metallic Rub On - Craf-T.
Thanks for taking the time to look. Comments are always welcome!

Love me some scary Fancy Pants!
I LOVE Halloween! But if you looked in my scrapbooks you'd never know that! You'd probably think I'm not really that into Halloween by the lack of Halloween pages. So over the last few weeks I've been working on rectifying that. I have a stack of photos I am working hard to get onto pages. Here's a selection of pages and cards I created from the Fancy Pants October 31 line. Love it!!! Might be all the purple - but I definitely love it.
All supplies are Fancy Pants unless noted. (Cardstock is Coredinations and Bazzill)
Apologies for the foggy looking photo on the right hand side. There's actually a transparency over it and I have yet to figure out how to accurately photograph that.
